How to Be a Solution-Based Person

I wholeheartedly believe in being a solution-based individual. In my opinion, we all should be. If you are someone who repeatedly complains about the same issues, then you are NOT truly bothered by the problem, because if you were, you would put that energy into finding a solution.

We, as a society, tend to complain about certain aspects of life that we believe we cannot change. A lot of us look for others who share our opinions to create a community of complainers. We rest in the comfort of grumbling and whining as opposed to embracing the discomfort of changing our situation.

One day, an elderly man overheard a group of students complaining about the same problems repeatedly. Frustrated by their lack of solution-based thinking, he abruptly stood up and told a joke. The group of students started laughing hysterically. The man then repeated the joke, and a few of the students smiled and chuckled.

After he told the joke a third time, no one laughed. The man grinned and said, "You won’t laugh at the same joke more than once. So, what are you getting from continuing to complain about the same problem?"

Your action will solve your problems, not your critique. Your activity will solve your problems, not your grumblings. Don’t feed the habit of complaining over solving. Be solution-based!
